本書は 1ユニット4つのトピックで構成、Reviewを含め全体で４ユニット。
既に刊行済みの3レベル（Starter/ Level 1/ Level 2）で養った力を土台に次の段階へと進む最初の一冊です。上記３レベルにはクリティカル・シンキング(考える力)に必要な語彙の例がワーク内に提供され、「表現したいけれど語彙が不足している」学習歴の短いお子様や、クリティカル・シンキングを初めて学ぶお子様にもわかり易く、簡単に導入できるようにしていました。

次の段階に進む本書では、基本的に「語彙は自分で調べること」という形となっており、学習者に「自分で考え、自分で適切な語彙を探す」という次の段階へと導いています。
「自分の考えを自分の言葉で表現する自立的話者になること」を最終段階（５段階目）とする学習段階の中で、本書は重要な２段階目となります。
